Job Title: Synthetic Organic Chemist

Job Description:
As part of the continued expansion of our R & D programs in the area of organic synthesis, we are looking for innovative
and enthusiastic synthetic chemists to join our research team in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province. We expect applicants to be
highly motivated to learn and share their knowledge with the team and to have a commitment to laboratory work.
The successful candidate will perform multi-step organic synthesis relating to our nuclear medicine R & D projects. This
individual will be responsible for the independent synthesis, purification, and characterization of organic compounds
using chromatographic and spectroscopic (NMR, LC/MS, IR, HPLC) techniques. Synthetic scale can range from few grams up to
one kilogram. The successful candidate will document experimental results in a laboratory or electronic notebook with the
written sections used in support of patent applications as necessary.
Essential Functions:
1. Participate in the discovery and evaluation of potential new molecular imaging agents from both inside and outside R & D.
2. Work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
3. Synthesize new organic compounds.
4. Assist in the development of manufacturing processes for the new agents.
5. Assist the Analytical Department with development of in-process and final product test methods.
Expectations:
1. Plan and conduct effective lab experiments.
2. Conduct lab experiments in a safe and environmentally sound manner.
3. Supervise the lab activities of others.
4. Report accurate experimental results to project teams, supervisors and co-workers.
5. Write technical reports.
6. Deliver technical presentations.
Requirements:
1. The successful candidate will have a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry or a related field (relevant industrial
experience a plus).
2. The position will require routine literature and compound database searches. The successful candidate will have excellent oral
and written communication skills, including presentation of data in group meetings.
3. A working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and chemistry-drawing software is essential.
